Student MISSION TRIP

JULY 27 - 31 | SOPHIA, NC | $350 PER STUDENT

THE VISION

For over a decade we’ve been partnering with the North Carolina Baptist Children’s Homes (NCBCH). There are several homes across our state with anywhere from 5 to 25 kids/teenagers, who come from some of the most heartbreaking situations. When considering how significant Summer Camp is for our students, we decided it was time to give that same spiritual experience to those who otherwise wouldn’t have that opportunity. Scotts Hill Baptist Church has built an on-going partnership with NCBCH through the years and our students have done an incredible job joining in and catching the mission for ministry. Our students have been committed to loving others through service and living on mission.

This year’s Student Mission Trip will be at Camp Mundo Vista in Sophia, NC. If you’d like to learn more about this location, you can visit their website: https://campmundovista.com

STEP ONE: MEMBERSHIP.

If you are already a member of Scotts Hill Baptist church, you’re ready to move on to step two! If you aren’t a member yet, check out the link below for information on how to get started in that process.

If you’d like to start the membership process - fill out the form HERE.

STEP TWO: COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY.

For students to be considered for the team, they must be a regular attender on Wednesday nights and actively involved in their small group community.

If you don’t feel like you meet that criteria, it’s okay! We’d love to see you over the next year really be committed to your faith community before taking on Student Mission Trip.

STEP THREE: THE APPLICATION.

If you meet the requirements of steps one and two then you’re ready to complete your Student Mission Trip application!

However, just because you’ve submitted an application doesn't mean that you’re in just yet.

Since spots are limited at Student Mission Trip, student staff will review applications and will send students through to step four based on the applications that demonstrate a clear understanding of the Gospel, leadership abilities and proper heart posture.

STEP FOUR: REGISTRATION.

Should your application be accepted, you will receive a separate email with an invite to the team, links to access the Student Mission Trip registration form (which includes a $50 deposit) and more information about raising money, team assignments and everything else you need to succeed!

Should your application be declined, you will also be contacted individually about the staff’s decision and reasoning. We won’t leave you in the dark! Our desire is to help you grow in your faith and discipleship.

 WHAT ARE WE DOING?

For our students this is “Student Mission Trip” - however we are putting on “Mountain Camp” for several BCH Homes across the state of North Carolina. Our goal is to encourage our partners in ministry, evangelize the lost, and serve all those who are attending.

SMALL GROUP LEADER: Discipleship is at the heart of Student Mission Trip. Every student who comes on this trip will be a small group leader throughout the week! As small group leaders, students will lead small group discussion, and intentionally build relationships with the NCBCH campers throughout the week. This role is paramount to the partnership we have with NCBCH.

ADDITIONAL SERVICE ROLES

SPEAKER/CONTENT TEAM: Work with Staff to craft and deliver gospel-centered content for the week. This includes delivering messages around a chosen theme for the week, and crafting small group content to help guide discussion and make the truth of God’s word easily applicable to life!

BAND/PRODUCTION TEAM: Team members will use their talents to lead worship through song during camp sessions. Team members will help with stage set-up, lighting, sounds, CG and any other technical needs throughout the duration of camp.

WELCOME/HOSPITALITY TEAM: Team members will lead the charge welcoming NCBCH members as they arrive at camp, help navigate registration and check-in, and welcome everyone into sessions. Team members will champion the attitude of love and care all week!

GAMES/REC TEAM: Games/REC team members will be in charge of creating, executing and leading stage games during camp sessions. Team members will be in charge of planning and leading out rec games each day of camp and should also be excited about initiating game opportunities with NCBCH students during daily free times.
